Aledo is a small incorporated city surrounded by much larger unincorporated Parker County acreage in the Aledo ISD area, so a lot of the work here is on one-acre-plus lots with septic systems rather than city sewer. The terrain rolls and carries scattered post oak and live oak cover typical of the Cross Timbers.
This is Cross Timbers ground — sandier loam sitting on clay. It digs more kindly than the black prairie further east, but the sand drains onto clay that does not, so grading and drainage get solved before a single stone is set.
