What should Boyd homeowners know before building a backyard?

Wise County · Eastern Cross Timbers soil

Boyd is a small town on SH-114 in southern Wise County that sits in the bend of the West Fork of the Trinity River and has served as a Fort Worth bedroom community since the late 1950s. Most properties are rural acreage on septic rather than platted subdivision lots.

This is Cross Timbers ground — sandier loam sitting on clay. It digs more kindly than the black prairie further east, but the sand drains onto clay that does not, so grading and drainage get solved before a single stone is set.

We file the permit with the City of Boyd and follow it through review, so the schedule doesn’t stall on paperwork.

Longhorn has built across Wise County and the wider Metroplex since 1984. We prepare the drawings an HOA typically asks for, and every project starts with a free design visit and a firm price.
